DEVPN node operator packages

For entrepreneurs interested in running their own nodes on our network, DEVPN offers single or multi-package node operator bundles. This allows potential node operators to purchase and deploy either a single unit or multiple units to increase the range of their local domestic availability within our network.

DEVPN Sentry Node operator licenses are issued on a yearly basis, providing you with flexibility and control over your participation in our network. Licenses can be extended for one or more additional years, ensuring continuity and allowing you to maintain your node operation without interruption.

This structure supports both short-term and long-term planning, making it easy for node operators to align their licenses with their personal operational goals and investment strategies.

DEVPN Node operator licenses

A DEVPN node operator license includes everything you need to operate a node within our network effectively, with each single or multi node license covers the following:

• DEVPN node license key The license key required to run a Sentry Node on our network also provides access to our node operator dApp, which offers direct insights into the usage and earnings of your node.

• DEVPN node software Our hardware-specific installation software is optimized for both user performance and security, ensuring seamless integration of your certified Sentry Node with our network.

• DEVPN node operator access Access to DEVPN VPN services through local node connection (advised for admin work only).

• DEVPN user access Each node operator receives a complimentary DEVPN user account, separate from their admin access. This allows them to enjoy our Hybrid VPN network privately on a secondary dedicated wallet without needing to connect to our services through their local node.

• Technical support All DEVPN node operators receive free, ongoing technical support from our dedicated team. This includes assistance with setup, troubleshooting, and any issues related to operating your node.

• Updates and maintenance Our node operator license includes access to regular updates and maintenance provided by DEVPN, which ensures that your node remains compatible with the latest network enhancements, security protocols, and any other updates we provide to our ecosystem during your subscription.

• Operational flexibility DEVPN node operators have complete freedom to choose when and how their node operates within our network, allowing them to use downtime to switch mobile data plans, adjust locations, or modify operating periods without any obligation and at their convenience.

Node operator revenue model

DEVPN node operators earn monthly income through a usage-based model that tracks and compensates operators based on how their nodes are utilized and perform within our network.

50% of our user revenue stream is allocated to operators for their contributions to our ecosystem.

Operators are compensated based on active user fees from both direct users and white-label partners, with higher usage and performance leading to a proportionally larger share of the monthly distribution.

All DEVPN network payments are made in ETH or USD to avoid the token sell pressure seen in many other decentralized solutions, ensuring operators receive a more stable and dependable income.

Theory vs. reality

Incomes are divided fairly, yet earnings per node are influenced by various factors, such as the ratio of individual node usage to total network usage. For instance, some nodes may earn slightly more while others earn slightly less, as actual income fluctuates based on user demand and network activity.

These factors include the total number of paying users on the network, the density of nodes in the immediate geographic proximity of a node operator, and the specific demand for nodes in that region.

As a result, node operators in high-demand areas with fewer competing nodes may see higher earnings, while those in areas with lower demand or higher density may have different income levels.

DEVPN also encourages operators to establish nodes in unserved areas, providing fair additional incentives for these new locations to attract more rewards relative to their actual usage.

Essentially our messaging is that every single node operator has an excellent opportunity to earn a solid amount of income on our network and a bit of common sense goes a long way:

Instead of placing 10 nodes in the same location, like a student dorm, we recommend operators monitor where their nodes generate the best returns. While dorms may experience heavy traffic, one or two nodes will typically suffice, unless the entire campus has a much higher demand for traffic.

Another example to consider is that we wouldn't recommend a student in a small country like Liechtenstein to deploy multiple Sentry Nodes. However, placing the first unit is likely very profitable.

User growth vs. operator income

The growth of our DEVPN network, with a focus on continually increasing the number of users, will consistently boost the usage and demand for more nodes within our network.

As a direct result, our node operators, especially those located in popular VPN destinations like the United States or Europe, will have an edge in identifying optimal moments to add new nodes in their geographic area by monitoring their node statistics before other investors notice these opportunities.

DEVPN will, of course, proactively target growth in these regions through data center leasing and ownership opportunities for larger investors. However, the flexibility, speed, and growing demand for domestic lines will always leave a healthy and continuous growth space for Sentry Node operators.

Sentry Node operators interested in placing nodes in regions with strict anti-VPN legislation will receive heavy hands-on support from our team and rewarding financial incentives. These regions represent a prime market for expansion and are in need of reliable and trustworthy VPN connections.

Future proof upgrade path

DEVPN node operator licenses are purchased per unit and support ALL current and future DEVPN certified devices. This also allows our node operators a potential upgrade part for their device or devices, based on their financial considerations and/or the availability of 5G at their physical location.

Node operators can upgrade their hardware later, such as when new or more affordable 5G options become available. Since the cost of faster hardware units often decreases significantly, starting operators can benefit from these advancements without needing to acquire a new operator license.
